Common Recycling Myths Debunked

Many people think that recycling is pretty straightforward and is already a common knowledge. However, we at C-Square often find ourselves trying to tell our clients that not everything they hear about recycling is true. In fact, here are some of the most common myths that you might have encountered and also possibly believed to be true.

MYTH #1: Scraps need to be sorted out properly before getting recycled.

It was during the 1980’s that the idea of recycling was starting to spread all over America. During that time many people were told to strictly follow sorting rules. Unfortunately, despite the current technology which has machines to do all the sorting, a lot of people still think that plastic, paper, and metal scraps still need to be painstakingly segregated.

We now have more refined and sophisticated machinery for the job. Modern day Plastic Tolling involves all of the processes that people have been dreading to do manually, i.e. Plastic Washing, Plastic Shredding, and more.

MYTH #2: Items made of recycled materials are of low quality.

This might have been true decades ago, but we at C-Square can personally attest that nowadays recycled products can match the quality of those made from raw materials. Gone are the days when recycled paper was rough and unappealing and recycled plastic was weak. Rest assured that we are constantly modifying and upgrading our technology for better quality products.

MYTH #3: Recycling won’t help my business.

Recycling does make a difference. It makes all the difference in the world. Through the years the benefits of recycling have gone beyond reduction of greenhouse gasses and carbon footprint. It can greatly help your business by allowing you to maximize all your materials, from raw to scrap then scrap to raw again. From there you can save more than 20% of production cost.
